Unless you’ve been stuck in a cave or bomb shelter for the last few years, you are probably aware that social websites are all the rage these days. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest have changed the way our world communicates. These sites have also changed the way photographers communicate and show off images. I can’t imagine having to communicate with my clients through a telegraph, or snail mail. Can you imagine getting a letter in the mail that said “I just wanted to let you know that your images are almost ready”? Well actually, that would be kind of cool. But that’s for another day.
So, we want to make sure that you’re dialed in with our communication. We want to make sure you’re connected to our various social channels so you can see and read about what we’re up to, what we’re working on, what images are ready, and some general photographer life stuff that might be a good read.
If you’re a future client, current client, or past client you’ll be receiving an email within the next week regarding our social media accounts as well as a request for yours.
And for everyone else, here’s how we do things at JRP:
Facebook
Our Facebook business page has over 1200 likes and is growing daily. Here you can find image galleries from recent and past photo sessions. You’ll also be able to read up on news and find links for JRP related info and images. For those of you that have been long time followers on Facebook, there have been a couple of changes recently that could cause you to not see our updates. Go to our page and hover over the “liked” button and click the “settings” link and then select “all updates” to make sure you see all of our updates. If you haven’t liked our page yet and want to do so you can find us by heading over to www.facebook.com/joshuaraineyphotography or you can search for Joshua Rainey Photography to find us.
Twitter
Yeah, I know. Not everyone is on Twitter and many people with accounts don’t check it that often. However, there’s about 500 billion people that use Twitter regularly and we’re in that boat. We post small updates as well as larger ones on our Twitter account. Here you’ll find links to JRP stuff, photos, general news, updates for current clients, and more. You can find us at www.twitter.com/rainey_photo or @rainey_photo.
Instagram
Here’s where it gets fun! If I could only use one social site it would be Instagram. No limit on characters per post, photo in every post, etc. I love posting to IG, images from my phone and from our cameras. We’ll post links, sneak peeks, and more on IG. Follow me at @joshuarainey if you have an Instagram account.
Pinterest
The fact is, as a photographer you just can’t avoid Pinterest. That’s unfortunate because, in case you didn’t already know, I’m a dude. I honestly don’t pin much here but I do showcase an image or two every once in a while and I pin the occasional inspiration image from other photographers. The key point in us being on Pinterest is so that we can connect with our brides (and grooms) and see what imagery they love and use that as inspiration. If you are a Pinner, come find us at www.pinterest.com/joshuarainey, or if you want to follow someone that actually matters follow Rachel at www.pinterest.com/racheldrainey.
Blog
We’ve also made it really easy for you to share our photos with the social buttons on the blog. You’ll find Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest all available with one click on every blog post entry here.
We truly look forward to connecting with you online! That sounds awkward but I assure you it’s not. Cheers!
