Every once in a while you get to meet and get to know some really really good people. Not to put the rest of you down, but Amanda and Ryan just stand out! So genuinely nice and caring and always up for adventure. So when they asked me to come out to Smith Rock and shoot some engagement photos for them I couldn’t wait! We planned to meet up on a Monday afternoon with some decent weather in February and our goal was to eventually hike to the top without getting too sweaty.

Smith Rock State Park is really special to these two, I mean, it’s where they met and all. Climbing and hiking is a big part of their lives so this location couldn’t be more fitting!

We shot photos around the rim trail and then packed up some gear to head up the Misery Ridge Trail. That trail is no joke, especially if you’re used to the whole “sea level oxygen thing”. The views and the sunset were well worth it though, it was amazing up there!
