Ashley & John Wedding | Hawks View Cellars Sherwood, OR
Well, it’s been one of those years. One where you look back and say “what the heck happened with all of that time” and “why am I now making coffee and pouring it immediately into a Hydroflask“? Oh yeah, at least I have that one answered, because it stays hot forever and because I never have time to drink my coffee right away these days. Busy. I guess it all has something to do with too much photography work, not enough time with family, and over-ambition in every category of life known to man. That’s me in a nutshell, or a pea-pod for that matter.
So, as a result, I’m now posting weddings to the blog from July! Wow, that’s 5 months ago. I should make a note of promoting my work better, eh? Canadian, eh? Yah, 25%.
Ashley and John were married at Hawk’s View Cellars in Sherwood, OR. Scratch that, let’s say it was a private residence, since everything I’ve heard is that HVC doesn’t host weddings unless the you’re super awesome and they really like you. I guess Ashley and John fit the bill for this one and somehow rented out the vineyard. Unreal. Seriously though, this place is amazing. I highly recommend you heading out there for a tasting the next time you visit Sherwood, OR. Oh wait, nobody visits Sherwood. That’s like a sports fan liking the Cleveland Browns. Just kidding, I’m sure some of you are laughing and some of you are furious with me right now.
The wedding was held in the vineyard at a location that has an unobstructed view all the way to Mount Hood! The skies were clear and the day was perfect, though very hot. We had a blast getting to explore the vineyard and setting up a first look moment in the rows of grapes. The ceremony was so perfect. No chairs, standing guests, a custom built platform just for Ashley & John. And then the reception was so fun. Very classy cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and then casino night. It seriously could not have been better! With over 4000 photos captured, knocked down to about 1000 total to keep things reasonable, it was “stupid tough” to pick what to showcase here. So, here’s my best attempt at helping you understand the pure amazingness of this wedding. And no, spell-check, amazingness is not spelled wrong and I truly believe it’s a word, even though some would argue that fact in words with friends.

I kind of love how they added a little fun with the blackjack table. :)
