Engagement Photos Portland Oregon | Jenna & John | Government Cove Columbia Gorge

One of the funnest things about my job is getting to travel around and shoot photos in incredible locations in the Pacific Northwest.  I can’t say that every shoot I do is easy, but I can say the results are always worth it.  Sometimes we brave the rain and hope for the best (funny how it always works out), we hike, we explore, and we come out of it with unique engagement photos at locations that show the beauty of the PNW.

For this shoot we met up in Portland area and headed up the Columbia River Gorge to the peninsula/island of Government.  We explored the island for a few hours and were the only ones there.  Happy to have some overcast skies and the threat of rain, other times I’ve been there it’s been fairly crowded.  This time we were rewarded with really nice light and great skin tones.  I love weather like this for photos, the color pop, we can look any direction we want for the views and backgrounds we want, and less people around is a huge bonus.

Jenna and John were so much fun to hang out with.  We laughed a ton, walked a bunch, and got so many great photos for their engagement session.  Can’t wait to do this more and more in locations like this!
