Adventure Engagement Session | Ashley & Forrest | Horse Rock Ridge
First blog post on the new website so I wanted to make sure it was an amazing one; so of course I chose an adventure engagement session. And here it is! My good friend Forrest is getting married to Ashley this August and I wanted to go above and beyond for their engagement session. We did an adventure session at one of my personal favorite places in the world, Horse Rock Ridge. I know most of you have never heard of this place, and that’s a good thing! So, without too many details on finding this location, let me tell you about the photo session.
We packed our gear and changes of clothes and hiked up to the ridge on a super cold day in November. I mean, really cold. It didn’t seem too bad while we were hiking but when we got to the top the weather just hit us. Ashley and Forrest didn’t care too much about the cold though and we spent a few hours finding spots for photos and shoot some really fun images. I shot a bit of film on this one as well as digital with Canon and Fuji gear. the light was amazing, kind of sunset-ish all day long. Really weird and kind of eerie, but great for photos!
Not sure what else to mention here because I’m really excited to show off some photos from this adventure engagement session, but I do want to give a shoutout to Forrest’s mustache. #stache
And I’ve had a lot of people asking me where this is so I might as well just put it out there, even though I want this spot to stay not busy for the future! Horse Rock Ridge is above Shotgun Creek near Eugene Oregon. It’s tough to get to and there are no signs and barely any parking at all. Here’s the link with directions to the trailhead.
