I love getting the opportunity to photograph friends and/or classmates that I haven’t seen in years. I recently had to skip out on my 10 year high school reunion because I was booked for weddings on the weekend the events were scheduled for. Oh well, I guess. That’s just part of my job. In fact, I miss a lot of great things to be able to photograph weddings for my clients. For example: summer camping, vacations, friend’s weddings (it happens; sometimes I’m already booked for a date and then a friend plans there wedding on the same day; aargh!), days off during the summer, etc. Enough of this tangent though, back to the photo session at hand.
I hadn’t seen Emily since high school and it was great to see her and her family! An awesome husband, two super cute kids, a great outdoor setting, great lighting to work with, and a grandmother to help with the baby. I particularly love the shot of Phil holding his son Evan upside down. That pretty much summed up the latter half of the photo session. For a while, Phil was carrying Evan really far away, putting him on his stomach on the ground, and then running back to Emily for a quick photo before Evan could get there! It was all in all a great photo session with some of my favorite family images so far this year.
And, all of these images will be available in my stock photography portfolios within the next couple of months.
