Katira & Christian | Ashland Oregon Wedding | Private Residence
It’s been a crazy busy Summer this year, and that’s of course a good thing! We’ve eclipsed the 20 wedding mark already this year and we just wrapped up 6 weddings in 8 days, so the blog has taken a backseat to editing for clients. But, here we go again!
I had the great privilege of shooting photos for Katira and Christian’s wedding in Ashland Oregon on June 13th. Their wedding was so fun! Everything was DIY and the ceremony and reception were on a family property with an amazing field and hills in the background. They chose to get married in front of a super old weeping willow tree and the setting was beautiful, especially with some small wind gusts that kept the tree moving the entire time. It was mesmerizing! A close friend of theirs performed the ceremony and everybody involved was either a family member or a very close friend. I was probably the only person there that didn’t know the couple closely. What an honor!
Oh yeah, the wedding party was huge! Huge. Katira has about 400 siblings and most of them were sisters that she included in her bridal party. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it was quite a few people to photograph…
This idea was so fun to watch, and really fun to photograph! The bride and groom made their guests sing to them in order to be excused for food. Each table had to think of a song that had the word “love” in the lyrics and then sing it together for the bride and groom, a cappella. It was so great, and the song choices were rather surprising. Even something from “Frozen” for the kids table.
Not too many occasions in life will warrant opening champagne “world series style” but your wedding day is definitely one. Here goes!
