McKenzie River Wedding | Private Residence | Jacob & Lanie
It’s always great to get to be a part of a wedding for a family member or friend! For this one, my brother-in-law Jacob was marrying a fantastic girl named Lanie. I got to shoot engagement photos for them a few months back (you can check those out here) and for the wedding was the DJ, the sound guy, shooting a bit of the getting ready; plus I helped get my in-law’s property ready for the wedding beforehand. Not to mention, Rachel designed and painted their invitations and then we photographed the painting to get a digital version. That’s only a bit of the involvement we had here. So, needless to say; photography was not on the main agenda here for me. They hired Kaelyn Elizabeth Photography to shoot the wedding and she did a great job!
The wedding was held at a private residence just outside of Springfield, OR. This is my in-law’s property and I must say Rachel and I have been trying to convince them to start holding weddings on the property. This might have sealed the deal, and then again, maybe not. Anybody want to respond and say it would be a good idea? Leave a comment or post on our Facebook page asking for more info or suggesting this residence as a wedding venue!
This was a true DIY wedding with great decor in an amazing location and a very relaxed atmosphere. Check out the images!

Have you decided to do weddings? I think this is an amazing location for small intimate weddings! I am in search for the perfect spot for my wedding next summer, 2014. My fiancé grew up camping in the McKenzie river area and has a wealth of family history in the area. We would so love to make our wedding part of that history but can’t seem to find a place for next summer! If you have decided to host wedding please let me know and if not, that’s ok too. If you know of any properties in your area that are open to hosting small intimate weddings I would greatly appreciate their info.!
Thank you so much for your time and help!
Best,
Lauren Sanders
Unfortunately, the property isn’t zoned for commercial use so they would have to apply for a costly permit and it’s making things not work out too well. It looks like it’s just family members for now. Thanks for checking in though!
