Eugene Senior Photos | Elijah Bristow State Park | Ashlee
I absolutely love this time of year! My schedule is crazy busy, the heat is a bit more mellow, I’m getting close to finishing the wedding season and actually getting a day or two off, fly fishing is getting really good, and senior photos are starting up.
Ashlee was my first senior for the season and we had a great time shooting photos at Elijah Bristow State Park. The park is very rustic and upon first glance, not the best overall to look at; but there are some great photo opportunities if you know where to look and how to approach things and not too many people go out there for photos. I love it! And, the photos turned out really good. Ashlee was a natural! I didn’t have to direct too much and when I did, she got the “poses” perfectly. The way I do things is more about putting people into situations, scenes, or lighting where they will look great and then having them interact with me or with the scene. This (in my opinion) is the best way to get natural-looking portraits in outdoor lighting. We did use a bit of off-camera flash to balance out the shadows and to control the lighting a bit. We also got to capture a few images with Ashlee and her sister. Thanks you two, hope you love the shots we created!
