UO Cinema Studies | Commercial Photographer
As we start to look back on the year 2013 and move ahead to 2014 all I can think is “where the heck did the time go?!?” I can’t believe how busy photography has been for us, especially the last year! We’re working our butts off and shooting thousands upon thousands of photos. It’s insane, and yet, we love it.
Many of you know that I was contracted in 2012 by the University of Oregon to provide commercial/event photography for the Cinema Studies Program. With the way my contract was setup last year, I wasn’t able to share any of the photos I captured with anyone except UO. With a new contract, and some re-negotiated lines, I’m able to share my work with you and use it to promote my business. Incredible!
So, I have a lot to share. Not just work with UO but numerous weddings, portrait sessions, stock shoots, commercial shoots, tons and tons of work. But, I have no time. Here’s to a new year and a constantly updated blog!
For my first post showcasing my work with Cinema Studies at the University of Oregon, I choose my most recent work. I photographed some candids and behind the scenes imagery for the program during an interview session with faculty and students. I spent about three hours shooting in super low lights while the interviews were being conducted. The trickiest part of the whole process was having to time shots for moments when the interviewer was speaking. If I shot while the subject was answering questions they would hear the shutter click on the sound file so that was definitely out of the question. I chose a black and white aesthetic for many of the images since it suited the “behind the scenes feel” very well. Cheers!
